University of Kassel, International Centre for Higher Education Research (INCHER),
International Master Programme Higher Education Research and Developement

Established in 1978 as an interdisciplinary research unit of the University of Kassel, and permanent unit of the University since 1982, the center adopted its new name, in 2006 to stress more the international aspects of its activities.

With its research, the Center aims to contribute both to the theoretical and methodological advancement of research and to provide practice-relevant systematic knowledge on higher education.

More specifically, the center combines a broad range of themes and disciplines in addressing the relationships between higher education and the world of work; it embarks on a broad range of issues of higher education beyond their specific area of specialization; it addresses international issues and stimulates communication among higher education researchers in Germany.
