Compostela Group of Universities (CGU)
The Compostela Group of Universities is a European University Network aimed at fostering cooperation and promoting dialogue in all fields related to higher education.
An initiative of the University of Santiago de Compostela, the group was founded in 1993 as network of universities with the following aims: strengthening the channels of communication between the member universities; organising events for the study and discussion of different questions related to Europe; promoting mobility as the basis to enhance the knowledge of European cultures and languages.
The group currently brings together more than 70 members worldwide which seek to strengthen links and collaboration between them and other university associations, convinced that diversity is a keyword in the profile of 21st century universities.
