Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE)
CHE is a private non-profit think tank for higher education. Since 2001, CHE has established the consultancy CHE Consult which is in charge of third-party funded projects. The Centre’s purpose is to initiate and assist reform in European higher education institutions (HEIs) and in HE systems as a whole.
Towards this end, it formulates non-partisan political objectives and conducts international comparative studies to develop new ideas and concepts for higher education governance and management.
CHE works closely with individual HEIs and government institutions at national and international level to implement and further develop these concepts, exploring through pilot projects existing options for future development. It disseminates new ideas and fosters dialogue in the sector through workshops, conferences and publications.
CHE is also placing considerable focus on the further education and training of university staff, academic and administrative, through a broad set of courses, seminars and workshops.
