Peer learning activities

International seminars in higher education management often follow the traditional path of presentation and discussion. This format does not sufficiently enable structured, output oriented exchange of participants’ experiences. For this reason, the MODERN peer learning project has been designed to raise the potentials of peer learning in higher education management.

The MODERN peer learning workshops we will combine expert input with fruitful exchange of knowledge and experience. Participants from different European countries will bring in their perspectives, work together on common challenges and experience a highly interesting approach to problem-based learning.

The first MODERN peer learning workshop targeted professionals working on internationalisation in higher education. This workshop was organised in combination with the MODERN Conference on Internationalisation in Amsterdam on 7 May 2010:
The second MODERN peer learning workshop was specifically designed for deans:

Peer learning activities survey

The MODERN project partners CHE and EFMD have produced a survey which intends to help us to constantly improve the peer learning activities and seminars of the MODERN project.

You are asked about your institution's experience and your recommendations in terms of do's and don'ts when designing peer learning activities. The survey is very short and won't take more than 10 minutes of your time.

We understand peer learning as a reciprocal, mutually beneficial learning activity of persons with similar backgrounds, involving the sharing of knowledge and experience between the participants. We are interested in experiences with organised and targeted instruments of peer learning (for example workshops, coachings, open space, consultancy etc.). Since we want to apply the idea of peer learning in the context of higher education management we appreciate experiences in this context or in comparable fields.

Your help and input are greatly appreciated.
